Celebrating good-bye to OceanWay!
With Santa Monica Baykeeper leading the charge, several local community organizations, elected officials and concerned citizens successfully placed enough pressure on Woodside Natural Gas Inc. to stop them from pursuing a proposed LNG tanker project.
In January 2009, Woodside announced that the company had suspended work on their proposed off-shore LNG project that would have imported LNG on massive tankers across the Pacific Ocean to a location twenty-seven miles off the coast of LAX.
Woodside’s decision to stop trying to build an LNG project was great news for the environment and for all Los Angeles residents. This is a victory for green and renewable energy options. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.is a ‘feel-good’ name for an off-shore LNG tanker terminal project.
